The caravan hard standing improvement is now complete and the new turf around them is starting to root.  Fortunately the recent rain has meant we can stop watering the turf for the time being.

When we were closed in March 2010 we were pleased to allow Manorafon to be used by the British Driving Society to start the assessment of the drivers before they went out on the road.

Easter

We have got our planning permission for the levelling of the caravan pitches.  Unfortunately our local council are not allowing us to make the additional flat tent pitches.

The biggest problem is now doing the work before we open at Easter.  The contactor has just started a big job but everyone tells me it can be done.

As we promised to our customers last year we had engaged a contractor and were all ready to start levelling off our hardstanding bases in early December 2009 when Conwy County Council inforrmed us we had to get full planning permission to improve the bases from reasonably flat to perfectly flat.  This will only involve a maximum change in level of 0.3m (1 foot).

Well the planning application was sent in early December and we await there response.  We should still just be able to improve our bases before Easter.

At the same time we have asked for planning permission to create 7 flat tent pitches on the slope between the toilet block and the Golf Club car park.

On the same weekend Manorafon played host to a Garden Party organised by St Michael's Church in honour of St Elfod.

Elfod died in 809AD - hence this year of celebration for his life and witness and for his role in the development of our Christina heritage here in Abergele

Our son Will and his good Friend Jason have recently completed a marathon 30 hour non stop basketball bouncing session to raise money for  the Cardiac Risk in the Young charity and funds for the new Abergele Netball Club.  After the first 10 hours bouncing a barbeque for all the camp site customers was held at Manorafon Farm on Thursday evening, the 13th of August.  With many thanks to all the campers who supported it we raised an additional £125, to be added to the sponsorship that had been promised for the 30 hour bounce.  They finished at about 6pm on Friday.
